Romania is an EU member rapidly modernizing its VAT oversight via the RO e-Factura centralized platform. From 2024, all B2B and B2G invoices must be issued, transmitted, and received electronically, with B2C transactions brought under mandate in 2025. The system integrates clearance, archiving, and reporting to combat VAT fraud.

National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF); platform managed under Government Ordinance No. 130/2021 and Law 296/2023.

Not required. Digital seal provided by platform is legally sufficient.
