Australia Allocates Funding to Strengthen E-Invoicing Security
Australia allocates AUD 23.3 million in the 2024–25 Budget to strengthen secure e-invoicing infrastructure, supporting ATO and expanding anti-scam protections for businesses.
The Australian Government has confirmed additional funding to enhance the national e-invoicing framework as part of its broader anti-scam strategy.
On 14 May 2024, the Government released the 2024–25 Federal Budget, which includes funding under the AUD 67.5 million Fighting Scams package.
Investment to Support Secure E-Invoicing
A key component of the package is an AUD 23.3 million investment over four years to support the Australian Taxation Office in maintaining and strengthening Australia’s secure e-invoicing network.
The funding recognizes that structured e-invoicing:
- Reduces invoice fraud risks
- Improves business payment security

- Supports faster and more reliable transactions
