Australia and New Zealand Announce PINT A-NZ Migration Plan
Australia and New Zealand confirm migration to PINT A-NZ, replacing ANZ Peppol BIS 3.0 and making PINT the mandatory specification by April 2025.
The Australian and New Zealand Peppol Authorities have confirmed their joint transition to the PINT A-NZ specification, which will become the mandated standard for Peppol invoice exchange in both countries.
The migration follows the global rollout of Peppol PINT by OpenPeppol, where PINT serves as a harmonized international baseline that local Peppol Authorities can adapt into jurisdiction-specific variants.
Transition from ANZ Peppol BIS 3.0 to PINT A-NZ
The A-NZ Peppol Authorities will migrate from the current ANZ Peppol BIS 3.0 specification to PINT A-NZ, aligning with international interoperability standards while maintaining regional requirements.
Implementation Timeline
Get Ready Phase – December 2023
- Publication of the PINT A-NZ specification
- Stakeholders review technical changes and begin preparations

Compared to ANZ Peppol BIS 3.0, the new specification introduces:

Regional Alignment with Global PINT Rollout
Japan was the first country to mandate its local PINT version, while Singapore and Malaysia are developing their own adaptations. The A-NZ migration reflects a broader global trend toward harmonized Peppol specifications with local governance overlays.
The move strengthens interoperability across the region and prepares businesses in Australia and New Zealand for long-term alignment with global Peppol standards.
