Belgium to Decommission the Hermes E-Invoicing Platform by End of 2025
Belgium will phase out the Hermes e-invoicing platform by December 31, 2025. Businesses should migrate to alternative solutions ahead of the 2026 mandate.

The Belgian government has announced plans to decommission the Hermes e-invoicing platform by December 31, 2025, following recommendations from the Business Experts Group on E-Invoicing.
After adopting new e-invoicing legislation on February 6, 2024, the group reassessed the Hermes system in July 2024 and concluded that it should be phased out.
The government now believes the market has enough certified IT providers to ensure smooth compliance, allowing a safe and structured transition away from Hermes. The BOSA SD has already begun the process by terminating Hermes Integration Agreements.
Organizations currently using Hermes are advised to evaluate and migrate to alternative e-invoicing solutions well before the January 2026 B2B mandate takes effect.
Although Hermes will be deactivated at the end of 2025, users will retain consultation access until March 31, 2026.
