Malaysia

OpenPeppol has published updated Peppol PINT specifications for Malaysia, introducing version 1.2.0 for both billing and self-billing processes.

On 3 June 2025, the following specifications were released, further aligning Malaysia’s e-invoicing framework with Peppol Business Interoperability Specifications (BIS) and the requirements of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM):

  • PINT BIS Malaysia Billing Process 1.2.0
Supports invoice and credit note transactions using the PINT methodology
  • PINT BIS Malaysia Self-Billing Process 1.2.0
Supports self-billing invoice and credit note transactions and uses the same data model as the Malaysia Billing specification to ensure consistency

What’s Changed

  • Version 1.2.0 replaces version 1.1.0, published in November 2024
  • Enhancements apply to both billing and self-billing flows
  • Specifications are refined to reflect the latest IRBM technical and compliance requirements

These updates continue to support Malaysia’s national e-invoicing mandate by improving interoperability, strengthening compliance, and streamlining invoice processing across platforms.
