Spain Postpones Veri*factu E-Invoicing Rollout to 2027
Spain delays the rollout of the Veri*factu e-invoicing system to 2027, giving businesses more time to prepare for the new certified invoicing and reporting framework.
The Spanish government has announced a one-year delay in the implementation of Veri*factu, the country’s new electronic invoicing and verification system developed by the Tax Agency (AEAT).
The revised rollout dates are now set as follows:
- January 1, 2027: For corporate taxpayers
- July 1, 2027: For all other taxpayers
The postponement aims to provide businesses with additional time to prepare, ensuring a smooth transition to the new invoicing framework.
Veri*factu (Verification of Invoices) requires invoices to be issued through certified invoicing software, guaranteeing data integrity, traceability, legibility, and security. The system is designed to strengthen fiscal transparency and combat tax fraud through real-time verification and reporting.
