Overview

Tadweer Group, part of the Abu Dhabi holding company ADQ, leads waste management for Abu Dhabi and is working to divert 80% of the emirate's waste away from landfill by 2030.

When ZATCA V2 introduced schema changes, Tadweer's existing ERP integration could not fully interpret them. New VAT fields behaved differently depending on transaction context, B2B and B2C invoices followed different structures, and export transactions brought unclear document classification and currency handling. Testing was constrained further by instability in the ZATCA simulation environment. Complyance ran as a parallel integration layer alongside the existing ERP and brought Tadweer to 99.9% compliance.

Working with Complyance has been a pleasure. The team's dedication to client satisfaction shines through in every interaction.

The Challenge

Tadweer's problems surfaced when ZATCA V2 changed the schema and their existing integration could not keep up. VAT fields behaved differently based on transaction context. B2B and B2C invoices followed different structures. Export transactions added complexity around document classification and currency handling. On top of that, instability in the ZATCA sandbox made testing unpredictable.

The Solution

ERP-independent integration. Complyance was implemented as a parallel layer alongside Tadweer's existing ERP, so the core system was left untouched.

Dynamic ZATCA V2 schema handling. The layer interpreted ZATCA V2 rules in context, applying correct VAT logic for standard, zero-rated, exempt, and export transactions.

Accurate B2B and B2C response processing. Different ZATCA response structures for B2B and B2C were handled correctly rather than forced into one path.

Clear export and currency classification. Export invoices, credit notes, and debit notes were classified correctly, with currency handled properly.

Resilient go-live support. Invoice submission stayed stable despite the sandbox limitations that had been holding testing back.

The Impact

Tadweer reached 99.91% e-invoice data accuracy and completed implementation in 1.2 weeks, with a 10x gain in developer productivity. The parallel-layer approach delivered ZATCA V2 compliance without reworking the underlying ERP.
