Can invoices be submitted to Fawtara in batches?
Table of Contents
OTA’s published service-provider FAQ states that B2B e-invoices are to be submitted in real time. It does not establish a general batch-submission allowance for B2B invoices. The same FAQ says the timing and process for B2C submissions were still under discussion at the time of publication, so businesses should check for later OTA updates before relying on a B2C batch process.
A business may still use bulk processing inside its ERP or invoicing platform, but that does not necessarily mean invoices can be transmitted to the Fawtara network as a batch. The service provider’s technical integration must follow the submission and response rules that apply to the relevant transaction type.
Before choosing a high-volume workflow, ask your service provider how it handles queues, acknowledgements, rejected documents, retries, and status updates. Confirm whether any later OTA guidance has changed the published submission requirements.
Key points
- Plan for real-time B2B submission: OTA’s published FAQ specifies real-time submission for B2B e-invoices.
- Do not assume batch transmission is permitted: Bulk creation in an ERP is different from batch submission to the network.
- Check current B2C guidance: OTA has indicated that B2C timing and submission arrangements require further guidance.
- Test high-volume scenarios: Confirm queue handling, retries, acknowledgements, and status tracking with your provider.
