What is the Fawtara portal?
Table of Contents
Fawtara is the Oman Tax Authority's portal for the country's e-invoicing programme. It supports the implementation and administration of the Fawtara e-invoicing framework, including service-provider accreditation and related taxpayer and provider processes.
The underlying e-invoicing architecture uses a 5-Corner model connecting the supplier, supplier's service provider, buyer's service provider, buyer, and OTA. Service providers validate and exchange invoice data while specified tax data is reported to the Tax Authority.
Fawtara therefore functions as part of the wider national e-invoicing infrastructure rather than simply being a replacement for an organization's ERP or invoicing application.
