The routing identifier that every invoice to a German public body must carry so that the receiving platform can deliver it to the right administrative unit. Issued by the public buyer and structured in up to three parts (coarse routing, fine routing, check digits), it is entered in the buyer reference field of an XRechnung or ZUGFeRD invoice. It is a B2G-only requirement; B2B invoices need no Leitweg-ID and may carry a placeholder.
