Belgium’s Mandatory B2B E-Invoicing Law Passes Second Hearing
Belgium’s Council of Ministers approves the draft law mandating B2B e-invoicing from January 1, 2026, moving one step closer to full digital VAT compliance.
The Belgian Council of Ministers has approved the draft law introducing mandatory B2B e-invoicing, marking a major milestone in Belgium’s digital tax transformation.
Once enacted, the law will make electronic invoicing mandatory for all business transactions starting January 1, 2026, aligning with the EU’s VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) initiative.
The proposal now moves to the next stage, it will be signed by the King and then submitted to the House of Representatives for final approval.
Belgium’s reform aims to improve VAT compliance, reduce administrative burdens, and promote automation across the business ecosystem.
