The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) has released the Software Development Kit (SDK) in beta, supporting taxpayers and solution providers in preparing for Malaysia’s upcoming mandatory MyInvois e-invoicing system.

On 9 February 2024, IRBM published the SDK alongside updated guidance documents to clarify technical and operational requirements. The release includes:

  • Software Development Kit (SDK) for MyInvois API integration
  • E-Invoice Guideline Version 2.2
  • E-Invoice Specific Guideline Version 2.0

Purpose of the SDK

The SDK provides technical documentation for the APIs exposed by the MyInvois system, enabling ERP systems and billing platforms to integrate directly with IRBM for automated document submission and processing.

This supports businesses in building, testing, and validating system integrations ahead of the mandatory e-invoicing rollout.

Guideline Updates

The updated guideline versions introduce additional clarifications to support implementation of the e-invoicing mandate, particularly around system integration, validation flows, and operational processes when using the MyInvois API.

Further technical updates and refinements are expected as Malaysia progresses toward full mandatory adoption.
