The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) has released further updates to the MyInvois Software Development Kit (SDK) and e-invoicing guidelines to support preparation for Malaysia’s upcoming countrywide e-invoicing mandate.

On 28 June 2024, IRBM published the following updated documents:

  • Clarification of new and legacy Business Registration Numbers (BRN)
  • Additional self-billed transactions added to the list eligible for consolidated e-invoices
  • Inclusion of insurance claim, compensation, or benefit payments as mandatory self-billed transactions
  • Editorial revisions and removal of outdated provisions to improve clarity

Key Updates to SDK Version 1.0

The updated SDK introduces technical refinements to improve API consistency and usability, including:

  • Alignment of API Response and Standard Error Response formats
  • Updated document type examples specifying version v1.1
  • Removal of the Continuation Token from the Search Documents API
  • Updates to digital signature handling
